I'm not sure what to make of this one. Idlewild kicked things off tonight with a few acoustic tracks to support... well, Idlewild. Nobody good enough to support you then, eh?
In fairness they really didn't need it. It seems their fairly extensive back catalogue is more than enough to fill a show with, and it's varied enough that Woomble et al. almost pass as two different bands. It made perfect sense to have a mostly acoustic set to ease everyone into their slightly harder stuff.
My only criticism was that most of the acoustic tracks really didn't have enough behind them to get my attention. I particularly noticed that American English just sounded a bit flat tonight - just didn't seem to have much behind it overall. But with that said I was rather fond of Cleavers when they were about - I'd have had them play A Modern Way of Letting Go on loop for half the set.
As per usual, check out the rest of the photos in the gallary below. See you next time!
